— the problem
The average MA sports parent coordinates 3+ kids across 4+ programs using 6 group chats and a prayer. We can do better.
01
Every team, every club, every parent-teacher org has its own WhatsApp, Remind, or Band — and none of them talk to each other.
02
That hockey ID event at Pilgrim Arena? You heard about it three days after it happened. Your kid is still talking about it.
03
If you're new to MA or new to club sports, the real info is in the parking-lot whisper network. That's absurd in 2026.
— the data
The Sidelineup pulls tryouts, ID events, showcases, and summer camps from every town rec department, youth association, and major club in each region we cover — then filters it to the sports your kid actually plays. Live on the South Shore (Hingham, Duxbury, Cohasset, Scituate, Marshfield) now. Expanding outward through 2027. Every event is verified before we publish.
— the community
Today's youth sports journey is harder than the one we grew up in — more expensive, more competitive, more anxious. The data tells you what's happening. The community is how you actually get through it.
Saturday morning street hockey in Hingham. A Sunday pickup soccer game in Scituate. Open-ice skates. After-school scrimmages. Parents post, kids show up — RSVP right in the app, weather reschedule built in, the whole neighborhood gets healthier.
Sport clinics built around the school calendar — days off, half days, holiday weeks, summer break. Plus skill clinics for tryout prep, parent meetups, town halls on the stuff clubs won't answer publicly, and early access to the camps worth paying for. Sidelineup-brokered, members only.
Real answers from parents who've been there — coaches, clubs, camps, the hard calls. Not marketing copy from the club's website. Learn from the parents already living it.
Used? Three ways. The peer-to-peer marketplace from verified members in your town (Venmo/Zelle, no fees) — skates outgrown, sticks from siblings who switched sports, cleats, gloves, bags. Plus vetted local consignment shops (drop and forget) and trade-in stores (cash today) for parents who'd rather hand the sale off. Buying new? Honest buyer's guides + sizing help, plus exclusive member discounts at retailers big and small — from national chains to your local pro shop.
Your town. Your sport. Your kid's birth year. Ride shares to weekend tournaments. Carpool threads. Who's got extra ice time to sell. The granular stuff group chats were never built for.
When your kid gets cut, when a coach is out of line, when you're questioning whether the club commitment is still worth it — talk to parents who've lived every version of that. Kids don't flourish alone. Neither do parents.
Moderated by real parents. Verified members only — no anonymous accounts, no club reps posing as parents. This is the Sidelineup you need.

— faq
At launch, we're covering five South Shore flagship towns in full: Hingham, Duxbury, Cohasset, Scituate, Marshfield, and Marshfield — every town rec program and every club program that serves kids from those towns. The rollout then moves outward: SS expansion (Norwell, Hanover, Pembroke, Rockland, Hull) in May, Cape & Islands in June, Metro Boston in August, North Shore in October–November, and Metro West in December. Central MA, South Coast, Merrimack Valley, and Western MA follow through 2027. Join the waitlist above; we'll email you the day your town goes live.
Those are team-management tools built for coaches — they show you your own kid's schedule. The Sidelineup is built for parents: it shows you every tryout, camp, and ID event across your town AND the clubs your kid could be trying out for — plus a community of real parents to actually talk through the decisions with. Nothing else on the market aggregates across town + club + sport, let alone connects the parents living it.
Five things:
It's peer-to-peer, between verified members of your town's Sidelineup community. Active subscribers list the gear their kid outgrew — skates, sticks, cleats, shin guards, helmets, bags. Any subscriber can browse and message the seller. Handoff is usually local (Venmo or Zelle). We don't take a cut and we don't hold inventory — we just make sure listings come from real parents, not resellers. A few times a year we run in-person seasonal swap events at a local rink or field.
The Sidelineup gear hub also points you to vetted local consignment shops like Family Sports Consignments in North Pembroke — you bring the gear, they sell it, you get paid when it sells. And to trade-in chains like Play It Again Sports (multiple MA locations) for parents who want immediate cash. Three routes, one page — pick the one that fits the gear and the moment. The full vetted list is in the gear hub once you're a subscriber.
Yes. Pickup games are organized by other parents — you RSVP in the app, show up at the town field or rink, and play. Sidelineup events and clinics are Sidelineup-brokered — we book the ice time or field time, vet the coach (usually a current or former college player), and open it to members. Many clinics are timed around the school calendar — days off, half days, holiday weeks, summer break — so kids get touches when public programs are dark. Spots are limited to keep the ratio right.
A combination of direct partnerships with town rec departments and major clubs, plus structured public feeds we normalize and keep current. Every event gets verified before we publish.
We're rolling out by region to make sure the data is complete and accurate before we charge anyone for it. The sequence is: South Shore flagship (Apr 2026, live now) → SS expansion (May) → Cape & Islands (Jun) → Metro Boston (Aug) → North Shore (Oct–Nov) → Metro West (Dec) → Central MA / South Coast / Merrimack Valley / Western MA (Jan–Jun 2027). By the end of Y2 we're in every MA region. Join the waitlist above and you'll be the first to know.
Launching with hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and baseball — the four core MA youth sports where the tryout, camp, and ID-event landscape is most fragmented. Softball and basketball are next.
Mobile web first. Dedicated iOS + Android apps will follow in Q4 2026.
A team of MA sports parents who got tired of missing deadlines. We're starting small, local, and obsessive about data quality — because a broken calendar is worse than no calendar.
Five South Shore towns live at launch: Hingham, Duxbury, Cohasset, Scituate, Marshfield. 46+ more rolling out across MA through 2026, then every remaining region through 2027. Join the community of parents who are figuring this out together — we'll email the day your town opens up.
